Dunno why i bother.....

.... checkin on our blogs... is there anybody out there reading this shit..?
Well... feck it.. i need something to take my mind off the cigarette cravings, yes that's right, im off the fags since about 7.30am sunday morning..(that was the last time i had a smoke) then i staggered home and fell asleep on the sofa cause i cudn't face the stairs!!!

Last week was very eventfull indeed.. The Savage Kick Fest ran from Wed till Sunday, i was at every night except sunday, but it was a fuckin amazin' week of dirty blues and good ole Rock agus Roll..!

Loads of highlights - The Mighty Stef (love those lads), Jim Jones Revue, Paul Rooney (Urban Voodoo Machine), Casa De Chihuahua, Hillstomp... But fuck me the act that really blew my brains has gotta be Bob Log III.. How does he do that!

On Friday night we played a sold out show in Derry's Nerve Centre to around 600 kidz.. interesting night, gig went well but they gotta sort out the feckin air con in that place...

This saturday we're playin an acoustic set up in the Cellar Bar, Draperstown - where they'll be screening the dvd of this years festival.. really looking farward to that as Paddy G tellin me there's some great footage of us.
If i can stay off the fags till then i'll be pleased.... but i'll def be on the Jugs of Life on sat... you can count on it!

So, whats on the horrison for HCTLG...???
We're playin a few more festivals outa town... we got the Hard Working Class Heroes Fest in Dublin in mid october and the Redline Roots Fest at the end of october then we've got two dates for the North Coast Folk Fest around Halloween, that should be cool..

we'll be hitting London town hard in November for a slew of gigs also... keep ur eye on our tour dates for some more to be added...

Twitter...

Quite the craze now, isn't it?
Well, for those of you who read this blog who have a twitter account; go and find us and follow us! We're on a bit of an experimental stage with it, but soon enough there'll be more tweets that that of a toy shop. (see what I did there?)
Wally is currently on a bit of a holiday, and has been papped somewhere in spain eating cadburys fingers exclaiming 'They taste the same as back home...'
So its been Marty, Rion, Rob and I practicing with the faithful acoustics; getting arrangements nailed & lyrics sorted.
So, as before; for poor quality photos, senseless rambles and pointless but somewhat interesting links, as well as the odd update and relevant info; go to twitter and you shall be rewarded (with all that stuff I just said...)

Worlds worst Blogger...

Ladies and Gents; one can only apologise so many times, however I can give what I think is a viable reason as to what has been going on in the world of me not blogging enough.
The basic reason is my broadband at home has been giving me jip (and I'd like to point out for the record that British Telecom are a shower of bastards) So for a few weeks, my only means of connection to my twitter, blogger, forums and so on has been through my faithful phone. Faithful, but somewhat small to manage an entire blog. Tweeting is fine, blogging; a bit of a pest.

But I digress.

We've seemed to have knocked about one or two notes to make three more, and then added a nifty bass line with some fancy guitar licks and have come up with a couple of new songs! Alway exciting when a new song is 'born', be it from the zany world of Rions head! But without Mr McCartney's cranium, we wouldn't have such as 'The Balled of the Landed Gentry', or 'Bad Boat'; so zany or not, they seem to be classics in the making.

We've got a plethora of gigs coming up; too many to mention here, but full details on our website (and for those who haven't seen the website, www.herecomesthelandedgentry.com)

Not too much else to report to the world about the goings on from ourselves; beards are bigger than ever... And the photoshoot was ace. Some photos have been released onto the interweb (the mugshots are especially good!) but as for the rest, well they are being looked at and should be ready for the human eye in the coming weeks. For now, accept my apology and have a photo for your wall/wallpaper/screensaver/favourite frame/placemats/greetings card etc etc. Do with it as you please!

Is anybody out there?

What happened to the guy who used to do all the cool blogs. He hasn't put up a blog in 2 weeks and he promised he would give daily updates with photos and vlogs (that mean video and blogs) and he has failed to do this. Hes been leading us all on and I for one think its very unfair. This is a very un-christian thing to do. I wonder if the band are still together, for all we know they could be broke up as we havent heard any thing about the really exciting lives they live!!!

Please Mr Blogger, Im sorry i had to hack into your email account to put this post up but it had to be done so please put us out of our misery... your public needs you!!!

P.S. You are a ride and I think your writing is brilliant, and I for one would class you among the literary great such as Dostoevsky, Shakespear, Roald Dahl and Madonna!

Exciting News...

Well... Not really, but I shall be documenting things more 'photographically' (and if that isn't an amazing made up word, then I don't know what is!)
I found my good camera I bought last year for going to Paris, and it shall be attending practices, events, Marty having a sneaky pee against Big Al and all sorts of hoohaa.
Having slight issues with my lovely mac, so I'm pretty scunnered at the whole thing, so I've resorted back on the old faithful mac ibook from about 5 years ago, which is still going strong! Most of my tweets, blog updates, forum updates, emails and general surfing are being carried out on my beloved phone. My favourite gadget at the moment (overall favourite gadget? My Shure headphones! Expensive kit, but jesus they are something very special!)
Next purchase? A sexy macbook pro WITH extended warranty! When? God knows!
So firstly, Rion, tomorrow all the electric axes we use to the rehersal room. I promised a pic, and I'm going to deliver.
Expect lots of smoking band members, and if you're offended... Well, lets just say we'll cross that bridge!
Want to revive old songs, and 'Jazz' them up (rion? You get the hint there?), and give some of the older tunes a 'Second Chance'... I mean, its not as though it'd 'Break our hands' to try them out!!!
So, again I've posted quite late on in the evening, and Mr Bon Ivor is on my music player to send me off to sleep. The Bean is already in the land of nod, and so too must I.
